Our Ag students just wrapped up their Entomology Unit, connecting to the Natural Resources standard.
Students:
✨ Designed their own insects, complete with a written description of diet and habitat.
✨ Brought their ideas to life by creating 3D models.
✨ Participated in Bug Collection Day and built insect collections after freezing specimens. Two students even took their collections home to continue labeling and collecting for their SAE projects!
One of the most exciting discoveries happened right in our greenhouse, students found caterpillars munching on the parsley! 🌱 These turned out to be Black Swallowtail caterpillars, and we observed their full life cycle in the classroom. On Friday, we had the amazing experience of watching one butterfly emerge from its chrysalis! 🦋
Hands-on learning like this shows just how connected agriculture and natural resources truly are. We’re proud of our students for diving in and exploring the insect world with curiosity and creativity! CTAEDelivers!
