Eighth Street Middle School (ESMS) is one of two middle schools in Tift County. ESMS is home to sixth, seventh and eighth grade students. The school building was originally built as a high school in 1962.

Approximately 1,000 students are enrolled at ESMS. The grade levels are organized into teams. Students have a choice of exploratory elective courses. Students may choose to take band, chorus or enroll in an exploratory wheel, which consists of Agriculture, Art, Careers, Technology or Physical Education (including weight training). Our eighth grade students also have opportunities to earn high school credits in many other areas. 

Our administrative team is made up of Principal Dr. Julian Jones and Assistant Principals: Debbie Brown, Amelia Gann, and Sonia May.
