On Friday, State School Superintendent Richard Woods visited Len Lastinger Elementary. During the visit he recognized three Tift County schools and presented a special banner to each for gains in Math on the Milestones End of Grade and End of Course Tests.
Eighth Street Middle School was recognized for a 9 pt increase Algebra I scores on the 2024 End of Course Test.
Northeast Middle School was also recognized increase in Algebra EOC scores. They had a 49 point increase.
Len Lastinger Elementary was the only elementary school that was recognized. They had an increase of 33 points on the Math portion of the 5th grade End of Grade test.
Following the presentation Superintendent Woods visited several classroom where he had the opportunity to see both math and literacy instruction in action.
